Hi, Everyone,
We're nearing the end of Week 1 and I see some folks are starting to post their work -- so it's time to start to comment on each other's work. I have attached my handout about commenting on each other's work to help you to be able to give meaningful feedback.
Here is a reminder about how to post. This info can also be found in the class syllabus. The two folks who have done it (Lindsay and Ginny) have done it exactly the way I hoped it would work!
Commenting on each other’s work:
Please make an effort to provide constructive feedback to classmates about their work. After work is posted, take the time to read and provide comments to one another on the message boards. You do not have to comment on everyone’s work every week, but try to rotate who you’re responding to so that you comment on everyone’s work a few times. Please offer feedback that is constructive and specific. See my handout titled “Giving Feedback” posted in Week 1 for suggestions. I will email each class member individual comments on that week’s assignment by the Wednesday following the due date – or sooner if assignments are turned in earlier than Saturday.
Posting Assignments Online:
Here’s how posting will work:
• There will be a message board created for each week of the class. (Labeled Week 1, Week 2 etc.)
• The week’s class materials and assignment will be there. I’ll send an email letting you know when they are there – but they will be there by 6 every Sunday night.
• When you post your assignment for that week, go to that week’s “board” and choose the option “create thread” to post your assignment. Call the thread: Your name’s Week 1 assignment (Vicki’s Week 1 Assignment). When you create a thread, you have the option to upload an attachment, so add your assignment. Every person in the class should have their own “thread” for their work every week.
• Members of the class should add their comments for the writer’s work for that week’s assignment on each of those individual threads.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's work!
Vicki
